Web2

SUNY/OLIS will provide the first line of technical support for SUNY's use
of the Web2 software. This is in keeping with our stated goal of
providing implementation/consulting services in regards to new DRA software.
Weekday Support (M-F 8:30am-5pm)
LAIP contacts or their designated backups who have a Web2 inquiry should send as many
details as possible via electronic mail to: defunct address If
necessary, inquiries can be phoned in to 518-443-5577.
Please keep in mind that you have access to three Web2 servers. If you
experience a problem with your assigned primary server, connect to your secondary and/or
tertiary server to continue searching (the list of server assignments
is at the bottom of this page). We suggest that you make both your primary,
secondary, and tertiary URLs available on your library Web pages.
If the inquiry clearly involves an enhancement to the Web2 software or interface, that
should be directed to the campus' cluster representative on the SUNY Web2 Enhancement
team:

Evening, Weekend, and Holiday Support
As you know, there is a need for support of Web2 on evenings and weekends when the OLIS
office is closed. A contract is in place with the SUNY/ITEC staff for support of Web2 on
the evenings and weekends. Find below contact information for ITEC staff members.
It is important that only you, and the person you have designated as your backup, use
these numbers to contact ITEC. They work regular 8-hour shifts during the day, and your
calls will be reaching them when they are out of the office.
When should you contact ITEC?
1) On evenings, weekends, and holidays when you see the "DRAWeb2 Service is Not
Available" error, and cannot load Web2 at all.
OR
2) When you are using Web2 and receive a "The server is NOT responding to your
search" error message after waiting for MORE THAN 10 MINUTES from the first time you
receive it. (This is a problem that can correct itself, so waiting 10 minutes can avoid
the need to report the problem.)
What information should you have ready when they return your call? You must tell them
if you were pointing to the AlbWeb2 server, or the BufWeb2 server. You should tell them
which of the error message/s you received (such as those shown above and/or CGI script,
and HTML errors).
After you provide this information, ITEC will attempt to re-set the Web2 application on
the AlbWeb2, BufWeb2, or FarWeb2 servers.
