Ms. Clare Merrill joined the SUNY Office of
Library and Information Services on October 11, 2001. Ms. Merrill is working, along with
Karen Gardner-Athey, as a System Training Specialist. Clare and Karen are working together to develop SUNYConnect LMS training programs. Eventually this will involve training for the various ALEPH software modules as well as for ALEPH system configuration. SUNYConnect is operating via a train-the-trainer model designed for SUNY librarians to return to their libraries to train other staff members in the use of the new LMS. While Karen and Clare have primary responsibility for training program development, a number of other OLIS staff members plan to conduct training sessions. Clare's academic library experience includes positions at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Skidmore College as well as a couple of years working with the New York State Library. During the 90s, Clare was a trainer for The Faxon Company. Her experience with automated systems includes work with OCLC, DRA, Dynix and SIRSI software. Please welcome Clare into the SUNY library community. |
