With the addition of the University at Albany,
three out of SUNY's four university centers are up and running with the SUNYConnect
LMS (ALEPH500). Their July 6, 2004 "STP" is a great SUNYConnect milestone
as well as, of course, a significant accomplishment for those at Albany's university libraries.
Minerva, their new online catalog, contains over 1.2 million bibliographic records. Students and researchers can select a subset database to search, for instance, the Science Library or the Dewey Graduate Library. Other examples of "logical bases" established by Albany are for their journal, newspaper, law, reference and government document collections. Albany worked with Ex Libris contacts from Israel during the year and a half implementation process. Thanks to Michael Ben-Ami and Noam Kaminer for their efforts in this regard. With their assistance, what was implemented was Project leads at Albany, Heather Miller and Roger Gifford were aided by a talented team from the university library and computer center/networking staffs. Congratulations Albany! |
